Prof. M. N. Hoda

Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications & Management (BVICAM), New Delhi

Prof. Hoda​ joined Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, on 01.09.1997 as a Lecturer at BVIMR, New Delhi and now he is working as Professor of Computer Science & Director at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications & Management (BVICAM), New Delhi (under GGSIP University, New Delhi), since 01 st  April, 2002. He has over twenty five years of experience in academics in different capacities. Prior to joining the academics, he has initially worked with corporate as a Software Engineer. He is an expert member of many board level committees of Govt. of India like Dept. of Science and Technology (DST), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), etc. He is a member of Academic Council (the Apex Academic Body of the University) of GGSIP University, New Delhi, since last 12 consecutive terms from 2006. He has also served three terms as the Member of Board of Management (the Apex Management Body of the University) and one term as the member of the Court of GGSIP University, New Delhi. He is also working as the Co-ordinator cum Convener for MCA Programme of GGSIP University, New Delhi, since last Fifteen years from 2004. He is the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Information Technology (BJIT), having ISSN 2511 – 2104 (print version) and ISSN 2511 – 2112 (electronic version), indexed with world’s premiere Abstracting & Indexing (A&I) databases like DBLP (Germany), INSPEC (UK), Google Scholar (USA), etc., being published quarterly by Springer Nature (The world’s largest publisher of scientific documents). The Journal is also enlisted in the UGC list of Approved Journals. He has edited more than 20 volumes of Conference Proceedings, as Chief Editor, having ISSN and ISBN serials. He has co-authored two books; one entitled “Handbook of MCA” for U. P. Technical University and a reference book on Mathematical Modelling, Optimization and Their Applications published by Narosa International. Another book entitled “The Foundation Course in Artificial Intelligence” is under process. He has published over 100 Papers at both National and International levels, in the journals and conferences of repute, including Springer (Singapore), IEEE (USA) and IET (UK). He has participated in more than 150 Workshops / Seminars / Staff Development Programme (SDP) organized at National and International levels as Resource Person, Key note speaker, session chairman, moderator, panelist, etc. He has delivered over 200 Invited Talks, Key Note Addresses at different academic forums on various emerging issues in the field of Information Technology and Innovations in Teaching Learning System. He has organized and conducted over 110 National Level Management Development and Quality Improvement Programmes for working executives in the industry and academia. As member of different Committees and Task Forces, he has facilitated more than a dozen of Universities in overall restructuring of IT and Computer Science programmes as well as innovating and re-aligning their teaching learning practices in line with the requirements of the IT industry in 21 st  Century. He has recently been elected as the National President (ICT Section) of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata.  He has been elected as the member of the National Governing Council, The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (ETE), New Delhi, for a period of three years from 2016 and is serving as the Chairman of its Technical Programme Committee. He has served as National Chairman (Systems) of Computer Society of India (CSI) for two consecutive terms from 2013 - 2017. Prof. Hoda was elected unopposed as the Chairman, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Delhi Section for 2012 - 2014. He has also served as Secretary – cum – Treasurer, ISTE, Delhi Section, for 2009 - 2011. He was also the Regional Students’ Co-ordinator (Region-1), CSI for 2011 - 2013. He was elected un-opposed as Chairman, Computer Society of India (CSI), Delhi Chapter for the year 2009-2010. He has also served as Vice Chairman for the year 2008-2009, as Hony. Secretary for two consecutive terms; 2006-2008 and 2005-2006.  He was appointed as the Returning Officer for IETE Delhi Centre Elections 2012 – 2014. He has also served as the Returning Officer for IETE Delhi Centre Elections 2008 – 2010 and member, Board of Scrutinizers for 2010 – 2012 & 2014 – 2016. He holds MCA degree from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh and Doctorate in Information System Audit in Computer Science. His current areas of research are Information System Audit, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, ICTs and Innovative Pedagogies for 21 st  Century Teaching Learning System. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (USA), Member of ACM (USA), Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Life Member of Computer Society of India (CSI), Life Member of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and National HRD Network (NHRD). He was awarded Outstanding Achievement Award – 2000 by Management Studies and Promotion Institute, New Delhi for his outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of Management and Computer Education in the year 2001 and the Best IT Teacher of the Year during 18 th  All India Management Congress in 2016 for his outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of Teaching, Research and Institution Building.

Dr. Upasana Singh

Professor in the Discipline of Information Systems and Technology at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Westville Campus, Durban South Africa

DrUpasana Singh is Professor in the Discipline of Information Systems and Technology at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Westville Campus, in Durban South Africa. She is member of IEEE (94197793 ). She lectures on a wide-range of IT-related subjects and she has a keen interest in Educational Technologies. Her PhD was on electronic assessment for which she developed and evaluated an online interactive tool to evaluate e-assessment systems, named e-SEAT. Using the e-SEAT framework academics can make a more informed decision on implementing the best-fit e-assessment system to satisfy their individual requirements. She successfully implemented the first formative e-assessment in the School of MIG at UKZN in 2014. In 2014, she received 2 research awards, one from the NRF and the other from UKZN, CLMS Teaching and Learning Unit. She served as panel reviewer for the NRFs Joint Collaboration applications in 2015 and 2016. Joint academic collaboration is one of her fortes having secured 3 MoUs with international universities. This has provided her with the platform to share her knowledge as invited guest speaker to local and international conferences in South Africa, India and Mauritius since 2015. She expanded this collaboration interest by volunteering as local coordinator for the 3rd IEEE ICACCE conference, held in Durban in 2016; e-MIG 2017 and 2019 Conferences held in Mauritius; a committee member for the AAE Summer School in France 2017; and the local organizing chair for the icABCD conference 2018& 2019. In 2017 she was selected to join the “Joint Expertise Programme” at Chemnitz Technical University in Germany; and selected to represent UKZN at MoodleMoot Australia in Sydney. She also has a keen interest in joint curriculum development with International Higher Education Institutions.In 2019 she graduated with a Fellowship in “Teaching Advancement in Universities” (TAU), from the CHE. Although still an emerging academic, she has delivered over 8 keynote speeches at International Conferences as well as served as guest lecturer at over 6 International HEIs. Her primary area of research is Digital Teaching and Learning in Higher Education but has recently expanded this to includeCyberSecurity, AI, the 4IR and Big Data. She is currently involved in 2 International Projects, the first on CyberBullying, with researchers from the University of Huddersfield, where she is a visiting researcher, and the other on assessing team leadership skills in collectivist societies with a skills simulator app, in conjunction with researchers from Ontario Tech University in Canada. She has a strong passion for female empowerment and has successfully organized 2 Women in Engineering events, to empower over 500 female school learners to adopt STEM careers.

Dr. Mani Madhukar,

Program Manager - University Relations, IBM India Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Mani has 15+ years of experience in IT with exposure to both industry and academia. He holds a doctorate in Computer Engineering and Executive program in Management from McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia.
His work areas mainly include Academic Program Management, IBM Cloud Pre-sales, Cloud Application Development, Infrastructure & Platform Cloud Services, Electronic Content Management, Competency Development, Mentoring Startups, Curriculum Design, Project Management, Teaching UG/PG Engineering students and Blockchain.
As part of IBM he has worked in various roles across different technologies including Cloud, Blockchain, Internet of Things, Data Science, DevOps and IBM Watson. Mani to his credit has chapter contribution to books including Springer, research papers in national and international conferences and journals including SCI publications and blogs on Cloud, Big Data, Machine Learning, Sentiment Analysis, IBM Watson, Recommender Systems.
Mani represents IBM in various forums as technical expert /panelist on various technology areas and advisor to few incubation centers and startups. He mentors online community on Blockchain supporting community sessions on IBM Blockchain/Hyperledger and IBM Cloud. He is also an expert on curriculum design and part of many Academic councils/Board of Studies at various academic bodies/universities including AICTE, NITTTR and many more.
